Oxytocin-Learning Back to the front door
Flagship programme · 36 lessons · 60 CPD hours

Phoenix Rising

An anti-racism learning journey for health and care. It helps professionals and organisations recognise, understand and respond to racism, inequity and institutional harm with accountability rather than performance. Ava, your guide, shows you in under a minute.

Why most anti-racism training does not change conditions

Training changes individuals

But the institution absorbs the learning without changing. Staff return to the same conditions. The insight has nowhere to land.

Data exists

But the system cannot interpret what it means. Reports are filed. Disparities are acknowledged. Patterns remain in place.

Staff speak

But what happens after they speak determines whether anything changes. Voice without institutional response becomes another form of harm.

Oxytocin-Learning works at the layer where meaning is made: helping systems interpret reality before they act on it.

"Some revolutions begin with riots, others with policies. Mine began with a pause."

Ava Thompson, ward manager

A learning environment you enter

Phoenix Rising is not a course you watch. It is a learning environment you enter, with scenarios that challenge, reflections that deepen, and a narrator who is implicated in what she is telling you.

Every lesson is read, heard and seen. Your guide’s voice carries you from part to part, a pause waits at each threshold, and pictures drawn from the lesson’s own story stay with you all the way down.

A Black nurse in a pale blue uniform raises her hand to speak at a staff meeting, colleagues around the table.
A question in the room
An older Black woman and an older white man sit across a small table under a lamp, two cups of tea between them.
Across the table
A young Black woman and an older white woman sit at a long table by tall windows at dusk, each with a mug, thinking.
After hours
A Black woman walks up the path towards the open, lit doors of a red-brick hall at dusk.
